We hope you will join us in Southampton for this key conference celebrating over a decade of Non-Violent Resistance in the UK and looking ahead to the next exciting developments and innovations in NVR.
The conference features keynote presentations from NVR pioneer practitioners Peter Jakob, Elisabeth Heismann, Julia Jude and Liz Day along with graduate parents.
Delegates will also be able to attend four workshops chosen from a range of 16 delivered by presenters from around the UK and beyond highlighting NVR in a variety of contexts including schools, youth offending, forensic and therapeutic residential units, the workplace, how NVR links to other therapeutic approaches, the roles of parents and siblings, NVR in the digital age, NVR and ASC.

Keynote Speakers:
Peter Jakob is a Consultant Clinical Psychologist and Family Therapist who introduced Nonviolent Resistance to the UK and is a leading NVR trainer, writer and national and international presenter on NVR. Julia Jude is a lecturer at London, Goldsmiths University. A visiting lecturer at University of Bedfordshire, a systemic and group psychotherapist, supervisor, researcher, author and co-director of a community NVR project.
Elizabeth Day is a systemic psychotherapist, an artist, a writer, a supervisor and an educator. She established the first NVR group programme in partnership with colleagues in Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust. She and Elisabeth Heismann co-authored the NVR groupwork manual Non-violent Resistance Programme published by Pavilion in 2010.
Elisabeth Heismann is a qualified teacher, systemic therapist, supervisor and trainer with over 10 years of NVR experience. Elisabeth developed and ran specialist NVR groups for parents whose children are in gangs or affected by Child Sexual Exploitation. Elisabeth is renowned for her special interest in parent participation in NVR.
The ticket price includes tea and coffee and one year's membership of NVRUK. Delegates are invited to stay for the NVRUK AGM which will take place at the end of the day immediately after the conference.
The conference will be a valuable chance to connect with NVR practitioners, to gain information and resources at the forefront of NVR practice and to participate in creating paths for future NVR developments.
